1. What do I need to score to pass the CompTIA Project?
The CompTIA Project + Certification exam is comprised of 100 questions. The passing score is 710 on a scale of 100 to 900.
2. How long is the CompTIA Project + Certification exam?
The CompTIA Project + Certification exam is 90 minutes in duration.
3. Are there math questions on the CompTIA Project + Certification exam?
Yes, Earned Value, PERT, Three Point Estimates and Communication Channels can appear on the exam.
4. Can I use a calculator for the CompTIA Project + Certification exam?
Yes, the computerised testing system has a calculator built in. When you come to a question on the exam that requires a calculator, the calculator icon is highlighted.
5. Are there any prerequisites to sit for the CompTIA Exam?
There are no prerequisites to site for the CompTIA Exam.

1. What do I need to score to pass the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam?
You will need to score 59/108 to pass the practitioner exam.
2. How long is the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam?
The Practitioner exam is 2.5 hours in duration.
3. Are there math questions on the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam?
There are no math questions on the PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam.
1. What is the PRINCE2 Re-registration test?
Individuals, who last passed their PRINCE2 Practitioner Exam between 3 and 5 years ago, must take the PRINCE2 Re-registration test in order to maintain their eligibility.
2. What do I need to score to pass the PRINCE2 Re-registration Exam?
You will need to score 20/36 to pass the re-registration exam.
3. Are there math questions on the PRINCE2 Re-registration Exam?
There are no math questions on the PRINCE2 Re-registration Exam.
Project Management Professional (PMP)®
1. How long is the PMP Certification Exam?
The PMP Certification Exam is 4 hours in duration.
2. What is the passing mark for the PMP Certification Exam?
The exact passing mark is impossible to determine for this exam. Until 2005, it was 61.5% of 175 questions. The test the same length still, but the passing mark now varies by the difficulty of the questions presented.
3. How many questions are on the PMP Certification Exam?
The PMP Certification exam is 200 questions in length. Of the 200 total, 175 are graded. 25 of the questions are not counted towards the candidates score. These questions are being pilot tested by the PMI. There is no way of knowing which of the 25 questions do not count.
4. Are they any pre-requisites for the PMP Certification Exam?
Yes, per the PMI website:
To apply for the PMP, you need to have either:
A four-year degree (bachelor’s or the global equivalent) and at least three years of project management experience, with 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
OR
A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent) with at least five years of project management experience, with 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
5. Are they math questions on the PMP exam?
Yes, there are math orientated questions regarding earned value, communication channels and PERT estimating on the PMP exam.
6. Is the PMI Exam Open Book?
No the PMI Exam is not Open Book. Test takers are given a blank piece of paper and a pen with which they are allowed to write down formulae, processes, etc. from memory.
7. What are PDU’s?
PDU’s are Professional Development Units. Once PMP Certification is achieved, you need to earn 60 PDU’s within three years of becoming certified.
8. How do you earn PDU’s?
Certified PMP Professionals earn PDU’s in a number of ways. Examples include, conducting training events on Project Management, publishing articles, attending Project Management seminars, etc. The Project Management Institute also awards PDU for working as a Project Manager at your place of work.
CAPM Certification Exam
1. What is the CAPM exam?
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is a certification offered by the PMI for professionals that are new to project management and thus do not qualify for the PMP Certification.
2. How long is the CAPM exam?
The CAPM exam is 150 questions.
3. Are they any pre-requisites to sit for the CAPM certification exam?
Yes, per the PMI website:
To apply for the CAPM, you need to have:
- A secondary diploma (high school or the global equivalent)
AND - At least 1,500 hours experience OR 23 hours of project management education.
4. Is the CAPM Exam Open Book?
No the CAPM Exam is not Open Book. Test takers are given a blank piece of paper and a pen with which they are allowed to write down formulae, processes, etc. from memory.
5. Does the CAPM Certification expire?
Yes, the CAPM Certification last 5 years, at which point you will need to re-take the test.
AGILE and SCRUM Project Management
1. What is SCRUM?
SCRUM is an Agile project management technique used for efforts which can only take weeks, vs. months. It provides a framework that is less regimented than PMI or PRINCE2 which allows the project team to perform within a flexible but control process.
Per scrum.org:
“Scrum is not a process or a technique for building products; rather, it is a framework within which you can employ various processes and techniques. The role of Scrum is to surface the relative efficacy of your development practices so that you can improve upon them while providing a framework.”
2. Does SCRUM have a Certification Exam?
Actually SCRUM has two levels of Certification.
- Professional SCRUM Master 1
- Professional SCRUM Master 2
3. What is the passing score for SCRUM Certification?
For both SCRUM Master 1 and SCRUM Master 2, the passing score is 85%.
4. How long are the SCRUM Certification exams?
SCRUM Master 1 is 60 minutes long. SCRUM Master 2 is 120 minutes long.
1. What is MSP?
MSP is the programme management methodology developed and governed by the APM Group. (The same people that govern ITIL and PRINCE2)
2. What certifications are available with MSP?
MSP has three certifications available – foundation, practitioner and advanced practitioner.
3. What are the passing marks for MSP certification?
Foundation: 50 multiple choice questions in 40 minutes. MSP Foundation passing score is 30 correct.
Practitioner: 8 Open Book Questions. 80 Marks are available, 40 are required to pass. MSP Practitioner passing score is 40 marks correct. Duration is 2 and ½ hours.
Advanced Practitioner: Is a three hour essay test. 3 questions with 75 marks available, 38+ required to pass.
4. How long is the MSP certification good for?
Between 3 and 5 years after achieving certification, MSP certified professionals must take a Re-Registration exam to maintain certification.
5. What is the passing mark for the MSP Re-registration exam?
3 questions, with a scenario background and appendices.

Each of the 3 questions is worth 10 marks
An overall score of 15 out of a possible 30 is required to pass
One hour 15 minutes duration
